We made solar ovens prior to Spring Break in which we baked some cookies. This was the first time we tried the solar ovens, so there are certainly improvements to be made in the future. All in all though, pretty fun lesson!

wow! I love the lesson! Nice one.
Hi! Thank you! Do you teach in Omaha? I grew up in Grand Island--funny huh?
how did the solar-cooked cookies taste?
Honestly, they could have used a few more hours. It happened to be kind of a hazy day. However, if you think that deterred them from chowing the yummies down, you are sorely mistaken. Lots of fun. Will definitely do it again this trimester!
I grew up in GI a bit...Wasmer in da hizz-ouse!
Here in Omaha, I work in an elem. ELL resource room...supa fun:)
Oh, lucky girl! I did that when I was student teaching back in Lincoln. Totally enjoyed it! What grade levels do you have?
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
I had almost given up "following" you, because it had been so long since you posted a new one! As a result, instead of checking "daily", I've been checking in "monthly".
This looks like a fun project, and capable of stimulating thought. You go, lady!!!!
Hi Willie! Thanks :) We started a new blog here: http://chimescienceliteracygrade6.blogspot.com if you're interested. It's more of an interactive blog for my students, but still kinda fun.
Yeah!!!!! It's been a long time since I was a 6th grader, but I'll keep an eye on that one! From the mouths of babes (and little dudes too).......I'll always be interested in what our young ones are thinking and doing with their developing minds.
